"We want a small garden wedding with friends and family. It's going to be very relaxed, we have family flying in from Russia and we just want to be together." I love it when family matters and the wedding day is just a great big excuse to enjoy each others company and friendship. So many details revolved around her guests. Even down to making a special birthday cake for her nephew who was celebrating his 13th birthday that day. Everyone sang Happy Birthday, clapped and cheered while he blew out his candles. It was really sweet. Congratulations to both of you!

2/23/2016 0 Comments WHy meetup with your photographer. What are the benefits of meeting up with your wedding photographer? Well, lets talk about that today. I always meet with my clients before their wedding or portrait session and I do it for a number of reasons. We select a cosy place to sit and chat, maybe Cao or Panera Bread, someplace that gives us an area to talk but not be talked over. Meeting up allows us to actually set aside some of the distractions in life and focus on one topic. Planning to create the best images for you! Have you ever had a friend tell you about someone they want you to meet? Someone they know you will LOVE but your paths haven't crossed. Well, that is how I feel about the albums, canvas wall art and enlargements that I offer. Everyone LOVES them when they see they. But it is just easier to understand fully what I'm talking about when you see them in person. Question. We all have questions when we are learning about something new. When we sit together and chat so many questions get answered quickly as we go over everything. Things like what to wear to engagement sessions, what time to schedule an e-session, how the timeline will flow for the wedding etc. It's much easier and more efficient than doing emails back and forth, back and forth. We have all had those e-conversations and then realized, "Why didn't I just call them!?" We all have a personality that mixes well with some people and then just clicks with others. Having that one-on-one with your photographer helps you know if you click. Because when you do, it's so rewarding! You are giving over the job and privilege to someone to be your eyes for your wedding day! It's a BIG deal. So when you click, you very often see life similarly and then their view of your wedding day is just like yours and you will LOVE your wedding images. It's win-win for everyone. This is valuable time well spent, so call me when you begin planning your wedding or portrait session and we will sit down and chat. 2/14/2016 0 Comments Groom Groove // madison heights,vaOk, guys, it's your turn to be in the spot light! Most often when I see wedding images, lets be honest, it's all about the bride. But not in today's post. This groom and his men were all having a good time, and looked sharp while doing so, wouldn't you agree? And just because he married into the family doesn't mean he will become a Patriots fan but he did pose for a picture. But then this happened! Haha, sorry Kevin, I just had to take a picture. This hand crafted, rustic wedding was filled with beautiful touches all through out. Even though I'm in Madison Heights, VA these friends of mine asked if I would be willing to do their wedding in TN. Umm, roadtrip! YES. I loved being able to be a part of their special day and captured some beautiful images in the evening during the golden hour! The light was beautiful and captured their joy just right. These handmade pies were adorable! Each guest picked one up and had their own personal pie for dessert. It doesn't get much cuter than that!! 2/9/2016 0 Comments Cook Country Club WeddingKendra's dress was amazingly beautiful and detailed. Kendra, you are a girl after my own heart! Heels, heels, heels. And your's were AMAZING!!! Kevin's best man was his Dad. The man who had struck up a conversation with Kendra first in the library. That whole story can be read here. Surrounded by friends and sister's who loved her, cared for her and made her laugh, Kendra moment of prayer brought a smile to her face. Under the limbs of an ancient oak tree, stands a little brick church. The St. Marks Episcopal Church, a direct successor of the first Christian Church established in 1747 in what is now Amherst County. Kevin and Kendra said, "I do" surrounded by friends, family and history. Both avid readers and history lovers, it was a perfect match. On the grounds of Patrick Henry's Mother's home at the Sarah Henry Manor, the reception was enjoyed by all. Congratulations to both of you! You wrote a beautiful first chapter in the history of your love story and I'm so thankful to have been a part of your day! Sarah Henry Manor Holly Ann Photography "Trey this and Trey that." her sister said, "He was ALL she would talk about." To say Steph was in love with Trey was plain to everyone. Her heart belonged to Trey and going together was pure joy but has life can sometimes do, it got in the way and things changed. They broke up and Steph wasn't the same. She tried to move on but college, distance and busyness did nothing to change her heart tie to Trey. The moment came when their lived crossed paths by God's grace and they began talking. Which soon let to longer talks and their relationship rekindled. Steph was ecstatic and EVERYONE knew it. As time passed it was clear to both of them, the Lord was bringing them together, forever. True companionship had been found in each other, they complemented each other so well and soon Trey asked Steph to be his best friend, companion and wife. Steph could not say YES fast enough. I loved Steph's "something blue" heels! You can never have enough sparkle. Following their vows, Steph and Trey planning some wonderful time for photographs which I greatly appreciated. {My brides understand great images come when we plan for them! } Steph, your smile was beaming all day long! You made me happy, just watching you two! 1/18/2016 7 Comments Featured//Vintage WeddingMy Brides are amazing! Creative, talented and sweet. That really does sum up the girls I've had the privilege to work with in 2015. Jessica and Alex's wedding was one which blew me away with how much work went into every aspect of the wedding. And today I'm excited to say it has also been published at The Budget Savvy Bride. The national average for a wedding is $25000. But this wedding is proof that beautiful can be done well for much lower! When submitting a wedding to be published I am unable to show the wedding on my blog until after it has been published. Now that it has been published , I can share it now with you. Work, work and more work. Jessica and Alex worked on the same floor and same unit in surgery. Trying to be in three places at once just wasn't working for Jessica one night at work. As she passed Alex in the hall she ask, "Can you take this patient? I'll love you forever." 12 hour shifts just weren't enough time together and soon they began spending time together outside of work. It wasn't long before they realized Forever was the next step. I'm so happy for your both! Congratulations to you both! The wedding was held at Lazy Days Winery in Amherst,Va and the navy blue and rose theme came together with the help of friends, family and some amazing vendors. Jessica's beautiful dress was a creation of her own making. After searching long and hard and not finding what she loved, she pieced together what turned out to be a stunning and breath taking dress. The rose colored chiffon dress came from Church Street Bridal while the lace and sequin topper was from bhldn. The ribbom sash brought everything together just perfectly. Jessica, you looked AMAZING!! For Alex who loves skateboarding, there were these special accent pieces atop homemade pies by Grandma. Congratulations!!!!
My hat is off to all the other vendors who worked hard on this amazing wedding in Amherst,VA.
